Life Change Institute, LLC introduces the Life Change Institute Minority Scholarship Award for the 2022-2023 academic year. This is a $1,000.00 one-time award given to six {6} senior students in any one of the seven major Hampton Roads Public School Systems who have shown any rise in their GPA or successful completion of their General Educational Development {GED}. An interest in attending a postsecondary education that consists of any 2 year, 4 year, or certificate program is a must. This is a minority-based scholarship for Hispanic or African American students that have shown significant behavioral improvements and wrestled to overcome obstacles and continue their education.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2.5 GPA entering their senior year. Documentation of GPA increase with official high school transcript required OR official documentation of completion of your General Educational Development { GED } diploma
- Minimum 25 hours documented community service verified by Site Supervisor.
- Essay Options { Choose one }
- Maximum 500 word typed essay explaining family, academic, financial, or emotional hardship, what brought about your change in direction, and what your plan is to make sure you remain successful through your identified area of continuing education
- Video { no more than 5 minutes } explaining family, academic or emotional hardship, what brought about the change in direction, and what your plan is to make sure you remain successful with your identified area of continuing education.
- Proof of acceptance to an accredited program
- Letter of support from teacher or guidance counselor.
Application Deadline
All completed applications must be submitted no later than Midnight Saturday, April 30, 2023. Incomplete applications WILL NOT be considered for any reason. Applications will be thoroughly reviewed by the CEO of Life Change Institute, staff, and support parties. Please submit paper applications and any questions to lifechangeinstitute@gmail.com
Award Announcement
Scholarship awards will be announced no later than Friday, June 2, 2023. All award winners will be invited to the next broadcast of The Life Change Lounge post award announcement. All financial awards will be provided directly to the student’s identified institution to reduce any tuition balance or other institutional financial obligation.
